Sarcopenia and frailty are two clinical entities that generate loss of independence. Sarcopenia is characterized by loss of skeletal muscle mass and strength and is a risk factor for fraility and physical disabilities [1]. To diagnose fragility must is necessary 3 of the following 5 criteria: unintentional weight loss, decreased walking speed, low physical activity, fatigue and decreased grip strength [2].
